Boyish was formed by India Shore and Claire Altendahl in 2016 at Berklee College of Music. 

The duo have accumulated over 30 million streams across their catalogue and have received praise from various publications including Billboard, Paper, Office Magazine and Pigeons and Planes. In August of 2022, they released an acoustic version of their track “Smithereens” with indie powerhouse Rachel Chinouriri. They went on to play as direct support for Rachel’s UK headline tour in May 2023. 

Boyish was the recipient of the 2021 LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Award presented by the Music Forward Foundation as well as the the first band to be added to the Bandsintown Big Break Class of 2021. Additionally, the duo was featured on a 16-song 2022 Record Store Day x Vans compilation vinyl entitled Portraits of Her alongside Taylor Swift, Girl in Red, Julien Baker and more. 

Boyish have opened for acts such as MUNA, Hippo Campus, Ella Jane, The Wombats and played direct support for Spill Tab on her Fall 2022 headline tour across the United States. Their most recent single “Kill Your Pain (with King Princess)” landed on New Music Friday Global, US, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In July of 2023 the two opened for King Princess on her European headline tour and played their first headlining shows in London and Paris. Most recently they supported Claud on their Supermodels headline tour.
